New Beginnings

20160102_122317[1] A lot has changed in my life since I last posted on this site. I got my commercial drivers license. Mac & I lived on the road from February 2014 until October 2015. We have started a Ketogenic diet. Mac has developed an aquaponics system so we can grow vegetables and herbs. And we are currently driving locally.

I will have to say that driving across this country has been a great experience and we may decide to do it again. But we decided we would like to be at home for a while. This means I will have time to work on projects and share them on this blog.

I will be continuing to post recipes but they will be Ketogenic. By the way, a Ketogenic diet allows you to eat foods with as much fat as you want with moderate protein and little to no carbohydrates. It’s amazing what we have gotten used to with gluten and processed food. Mac & I have both lost weight and feel great. If you are willing to give up processed food, which is packed with carbohydrates, Ketogenics is the way to go.

Aquaponics is a hydroponic system which uses your pond/fish water to cycle through water beds where your plants grow. There is no soil involved and the water continues to be reused instead of adding water continuously. The beds are made up of pea gravel so the roots can take hold. I’ll have to let Mac provide more details through as many posts as he wants to contribute.

I have been doing quite a bit of sewing since I got home and have started making tops to go with leggings that I have. I will also be finishing some quilts and probably starting some new ones. I have realized that I truly enjoy doing crafts, sewing, embroidery and cross stitch so I will be adding posts about each of these.
