Today I think I will thread the needle on my sewing machine. I haven’t been motivated lately but I need to do some mending and work on some projects. Today I will be fixing a dog bed, repairing some grocery bags and maybe even work on the denim seat for a wicker chair. The last time I worked on mending I got almost everything completed. Hopefully I will be just as successful today.
That being said I also need to work on my son’s birthday present. I will be doing a snack pack similar to the one I did for Fathers Day. I will be providing 4 seasonings with popcorn & potato chips. I think he will really like the gift as he does enjoy to cook and these seasonings can be made into a dip or a dressing for salad. I’ll try to share more later in the week.
I was supposed to share this recipe for Crazy Herb Seasoning before Fathers Day. Due to my new job, I did not get it posted. I made this seasoning to go along with my Dad’s Popcorn Snack Pack. Combine all ingredients listed below.
4 Tbsp. parsley
3 Tbsp. basil
3 Tbsp. oregano
2 Tbsp. onion powder
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
I put this seasoning in a shaker jar with a label on the front
and instructions on the back how to make a dressing and a dip.
For Fathers Day, I decided to make a Popcorn Snack Pack for my dad. I was looking for the classic popcorn containers like at the movies but couldn’t find any. When I ran across these small pails, I thought they would work wonderfully. Red and white is perfect. I then printed the word “POPCORN” and attached them to the pails. They turned out great.
Everything in this snack pack was purchased at my local dollar store except the seasoning jar and the small baseball cap. I chose the baseball cap because my father had a men’s softball team – and even a field – years ago. I know he loves the game. To add a more personal touch, I made a Crazy Herb popcorn seasoning (I’ll share the recipe tomorrow). So for around $10, I was able to get this cute and personalized gift for Dad. Sure hope he enjoys the treats.
