Today we will light a candle to remember the children we have lost. I have been fortunate in that my children are still alive and well. But I will light a candle to honor those that have suffered such a loss.
*Worldwide Candle Lighting Day is celebrated annually on the second Sunday in December.
This day was created by The Compassionate Friends organization as a way for families and friends to honor the memories of children who have left this world too soon. What was once a small internet tribute, has grown into a worldwide wave of light as candles are lit in each time zone.
OBSERVE
Join The Compassionate Friends through local services organized by churches, funeral homes, hospitals and other groups. If there is no Worldwide Candle Lighting service near you, consider planning one.
Beginning at 7:00 p.m. local time, light a candle to honor the memories of a child or children who have passed.
